Had a very painful breakup with a narcissist, whom I had once fondly thought of as "just a little vain". I got this book after someone loaned me "If Men are Like Buses, How Can I Catch One?" Both books are very affirming and encouraging, I happened to read them at a time when I was losing hope and I can say that a few weeks later I am still inspired by these books. What I love about this particular book is hearing the guy's point of view on things, especially if you're stuck wondering if a guy is interested in you. Like a lot of women, I can get worked up wondering and where a relationship is heading. This book is like another pair of eyes and ears!

I bought this book after running into several folks over a ten year period that were into palyamory--having more than one lover at a time.

To be honest, I was half way between fear on this and the weariness of judging my two or three friends who were oriented this way--multiple lovers. I have read more than my share of self help books but this is the most helpful book I have ever read. It started out slow - in the first pages I was rolling my eyes because I felt like it was simple stuff I already knew, but by page ten I was engrossed and thrilled. This book really isn't just for women, and it really isn't just about relationships. I read Lady in Waiting several years ago while still in my early teens. I have refered back to it many times since then trying to grow my relationship with the Lord while I wait on my future husband. I agree that our ultimate goal is to be satisfied completely with Christ and His cross, but that is something we as humans won't be able to completely attain until we are in Heaven with Christ. This book is informative, but don't expect 101 positions. The book has many variations of the same position, which gives it the 101 positions. I was a little disappointed, as there really wasn't anything I wasn't expecting to see in terms of positions that I wasn't aware of. But all in all, if your in a funk and need a memory jogger this is a good book with good pictures demonstrating the positions without being smutty feeling. The pictures allow you to thoroughly grasp the positions without focusing on the male and female organs that would take away from the real intent of the book.

I was disappointed by this book. People who are reading all the glowing reviews on here should consider who the reviewers are and should know that this book isn't for everyone. I bought it because I thought it would be useful to get a male perspective on Internet dating. Evan Katz is a likable guy with a self-effacing humor and a breezy, engaging writing style. But women, especially over 35, should know that this book is mostly geared toward guys and giving them advice on how to land dates with attractive women.

Katz seems to have a distorted view of what online dating is like for women. He says that a woman can put a profile up and have literally hundreds of men writing to her the first week. "Suddenly a woman has a mountain of men waiting at her doorstep like the paparazzi outside Brad and Jennifer's mansion." What planet is he on??? That isn't my experience or that of the women I know. I think the best and worst part of reading this book, for me, the realization that, sadly, I've done most of these things or, being a guy, had them done to me. (The one where the girl goes to the restaurant but doesn't order anything was SO painfully true.)

It is geared towards finding that one special person most of us are looking for and building a long lasting relationship with them.

I would never have bought the book on the title alone because the title means something completely different to me. So I think it is a bad title.

I would recommend this book to someone looking for additional insight in the dating field and finding true love.

I found this book to be more "lofty and philosophical" than practical hands on advice, such as, "Sometimes if you join a chartiy you can meet people with common interests. The more you socialize with these people the more comfortable you will be in those settings" as opposed to other books which say, "go to charity events. If you can't afford the ticket go to the pre or post party or volunteer for the charity to get on the guest list." Also, the constant reference to prince and princess got a little annoying as did the typos. This book is FILLED with typing and grammatical errors. It actually makes me have little respect for the publisher who let this go to print. That said, there are some gems of wisdom on the pages of this book and if you suffer from a lack of self confidence or feel deep down you don't deserve to be treated and spoiled by someone else's money, this is the book for you. I regard this book more as a self help book to gain confidence than a meet a rich man book.

Rogell integrates many ideas from other books(with due credit), such as the "neg", the opening question(not the opening line), and the importance of demonstrating value(women do not date men who they perceive of lower value). He then riffs on the idea of value by explaining that women want strength in a man:mental strength(women need mental stimulation);social strength(men and women admire and value you); and strength of character(if you are loyal to your friends, you likely will be loyal to her). You know, I don't agree with about half the things Dr. Laura Schlessinger says on the radio or in any of her books. I think she's far too conservative in general, and downright repressive about religion and sexuality. Yet I keep coming back for more.

Why? Because this lady has her head screwed on right. She's figured out one way to help people lead more fulfulling and committed lives, and she's not afraid to advertise it, knowing full well that she's going to get slammed for it. You've got to admire guts like that, and you really should take her ideas into consideration. There's something to be said for "traditional morality" (which encompasses things that are not necessarily moral issues at all), and its ability to make the world run more smoothly and people turn out better.
